OpenAI has launched an iOS app for ChatGPT, confirming that a worldwide launch and an Android version are coming soon, as stated by its CTO, Mira Murati, on Twitter.
The app is free to use for GPT-3.5, syncs chat history from the web browser and features a voice input function, integrated with OpenAI’s speech recognition model named Whisper. ChatGPT Plus subscribers can access the paid GPT-4 mode for $19.99 per month, which can be purchased via the Apple App Store. The app supports both iPhone and iPad devices, specifically iPhone 8 and later models with iOS 16.1 and later systems. Currently, the "Web Browsing" and "Plugins" features are not available, but they might be included in future updates. The app is ranked #1 in the productivity category on the App Store.
